Skyline Construction Series Case Studies
Skyline Construction Series Case Study
In early 2007, Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical Construction set out to increase productivity, raise customer satisfaction levels, and move to a 360 view of their world. Working in teams, employees documented existing business requirements and processes that support the goals of the company. The resulting business process blueprint, included 82 key feature requirements considered critical to achieving their goals and provide a solid return on investment. Using the blueprint as a guide, a systems evaluation team reviewed several leading solutions to best fit to their requirements. After careful consideration the Microsoft Dynamics xRM/CRM solution was chosen. Key differentiators included:
Based on their strong AEC background, Moore’s selected Skyline Vertical Solution, Inc. a Premier Authorized Microsoft xRM/CRM Partner as their implementation partner. After a collaborative planning phase, the initial project goals included:
- automate customer and service tracking from time of entry to closure and follow up,
- integration with the existing Maxwell Systems Construction ERP solution,
- build reports, views, and workflows to mirror Moore's processes
Once the initial functions were tested and live, Skyline Construction Series project document and cost control management system was rolled out. Through SharePoint Services, the Skyline Construction Series allows Moore’s project teams to create and manage Projects with unlimited Phases and related Submittals, Change Orders, Transmittals, Issues, Checklists and RFI’s all through a web browser or entirely in Outlook. Project templates that associate pre-populated project documents have minimized project set up time.
With the Skyline Construction Series foundation in place, Moore’s has successfully embraced a 360 degree view of each project. Key achievements of the implementation included:
-
higher then expected user acceptance resulting from centralized information more easily accessed through Outlook - the number of keystrokes to find needed information was significantly reduced,
-
elimination of manual processes required to set up accounts and projects allows employees to focus on project tasks instead of time consuming administrative work,
-
team members manage their project tasks entirely through Outlook - project updates, checklists, tasks, and documents are now accessible without leaving their workplace.
-
familiar and dependable technology platform,
-
strong integration to the Microsoft Outlook/Office suite,
-
overall ease of use and extendibility.
